Paediatric and Fetal Cardiology Bristol Royal Hospital for Children Dr Mari Nieves Velasco trained in Paediatrics in Spain, in Seville University Hospitals. She then did a clinical fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology in the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London and a Research Fellowship in cardiac MRI in King’s College London University at St Thomas’ Hospital, where she was involved in multiple research projects including 3D printing and MRI catheterisation in patients with Congenital Heart Disease for her MD thesis. She worked as a cardiology registrar in the Children’s Hospital in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and then continued her training in Bristol Children’s Hospital. She is now a Fetal Cardiology Consultant in Bristol and is finishing her PhD in the University of Seville on 3D Imaging of the Heart.

Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer across Bradford Institute for Health Research and the University of Leeds Judith Johnson is a Clinical Psychologist who is based at both the School of Psychology, University of Leeds, and the Bradford Institute for Health Research. She graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc(Hons) in Psychology in 2007. She was awarded a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manchester in 2010, and a ClinPsyD (Clinical Psychology Doctorate) from the University of Birmingham in 2013. Research interests Judith’s research aims to understand and support the development of wellbeing and resilience. She is particularly interested in investigating these topics in healthcare staff. Paediatric Cardiac Nurse Specialist INTERESTS / EXPERTISE / RESEARCH IN CHD As a general Paediatric Cardiac Nurse Specialist Naomi enjoys the wide variety of her job. She is, however, most interested, in the surgical and interventional catheter pathway and patients with structural abnormalities. Within the team Naomi is the lead for the Surgical and Pre Admission clinics. She has also spent the last 2 years leading on the Palivizumab programme for babies with certain Congenital Heart defects. This is an immunisation that is available to some babies with certain defects to try and help prevent/reduce the effects of RSV.
